Job Title: Head Golf Coach (Men’s or Women’s)
Classification: Stipend Position – $5,000 per season, per team
Season: Fall – Mid-August through Early October

Position Purpose:
North Central University is seeking a Head Golf Coach for its Men’s and/or Women’s Golf program. This is a stipend-based, seasonal role encompassing the Fall season, typically running from mid-August through early October. Applicants may apply for one or both teams; a separate stipend of $5,000 is available per team. The Head Coach will serve as the primary point of contact for the respective team(s) and will work in close coordination with the Director of Athletics to fulfill the mission and competitive goals of NCU Golf.
Each stipend of $5,000 is paid per team, per season, per academic year. Completion of the stipend is contingent upon fulfilling the UMAC conference minimum meet requirements during the Fall season.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coordinate and schedule all practice sessions; the Head Coach is not required to be present at all practices but must ensure practices are organized and adequately supervised.
• Attend and oversee all meets; presence at every scheduled meet is required.
• Fulfill the UMAC conference minimum meet requirements as a condition of stipend completion.
• Understand and adhere to all NCAA III and NCCAA II bylaws and guidelines.
• Maintain communication with Athletics Department staff regarding roster size, injuries, compliance matters, and competition results.
• Meet regularly with the Director of Athletics throughout the season.
• Ensure that the NCU Athletics mission and philosophy are upheld each season.
• Serve in a periodic, administrative capacity to support recruitment efforts in partnership with the Athletics and Admissions offices.
• Communicate with the Athletics Director and Athletics Coordinator regarding roster needs.
• Assist in identifying prospective student-athletes through appropriate channels and in compliance with NCAA guidelines.
• Manage the team’s seasonal finances in accordance with the travel and operational budget provided by the Athletics Department.
• Oversee program equipment and uniform inventory.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Willing to live within the lifestyle statement of the University.
• Experience coaching and/or playing golf.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including collaboration with other staff members, being flexible and team oriented.
• Understanding of the North Central community, including the spiritual emphasis on campus.
• Willingness and ability to familiarize with compliance and eligibility policies.
• Ability to operate a personal computer, word processing software, and basic office programs (e-mail, spreadsheets, databases, etc.).
• Ability to work well with diverse populations.
• Good planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekend hours.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Willingness and ability to drive university-owned vans for team’s official transportation needs.
